Femicide Awareness Project
This project goes into a deep dive of how femicide (a form of gender violence) has consistently impacted the lives of millions of people worldwide for thousands of years. It demonstrates how these heinous crimes have occurred in different continents and showcases the various ways in which activists have taken action given their home country's circumstances. It also provides how any common individual can also be a part of the change.
User Interface Audit & Redesign
This project explores the redesign of a current website. It evaluates and demonstrates various heuristic violations and some potential solutions. It all concludes into a culminating product that appreciates new ideas and truly makes the website shine whilst keeping its original personality.
Captioning HIDVL: Collection Assessment, Style Guide, & Workflow
This project involves producing an organizational style guide for captioning Spanish and English videos for the New York University Digital Library and The Hemispheric Institute. Over 1000 video performances in the Hemispheric Institute Digital Video Library include just automated captions. Accessible captions will make communities across the Americas feel represented and improve the utilization of collection research.
Personal Digital Preservation Case Plan
Revolving around the preservation of a set of files relating to each other, this project aimed at detailing a plan that showcases the steps and strategies I would take to archive personal files all relating to femicide.
Collection Development Policy & Portfolio
This project details a hypothetical collection development policy surrounding books, art, and media and their portrayals of femicide and why they should be in said collection. It also states which pieces will be in the collection with a proposed budget of $3000. Included in this project is also a hypothetical promotional event of the collection.
Database Creation & Metadata Management
Here are two projects where I got to see where music and data collide. In one, I created a database housing an artist’s discography using MySQL tools; in the other, I created a subject classification for categorizing their music.
